The Tampa Bay Lightning will be holding their annual Fan Fest on September 16, at the Amalie Arena in Downtown Tampa.
The off-season often feels like torture for Tampa Bay Lightning fans. Sure, we live here in Florida where the sun shines brightly over white sand beaches, margaritas flow like waters, and there’s always a party somewhere. Alas, something is still missing…Hockey.
Once August rolls around, things get just a little harder for the average Tampa Bay Lightning fan. The Free Agency Period has all but come to a close, there is very little action on the home front; fans are so very close to the start of the new season, yet so very far away.
The good news is, there is finally an end in sight for those of us here in the Bolts Nation. We now have something (other than the start of the season, of course) to look forward to. The Tampa Bay Lightning has finally released a date for their Annual Fan Fest!
Tampa Bay Lightning
That’s right, ladies and gentlemen of the Bolts Nation…the Tampa Bay Lightning announced this morning, via a Press Release on their official site, the team will be hosting their annual Fan Fest on Saturday, September 16, at the Amalie Arena in Downtown Tampa.
For those of you who are new to the Bolts Nation and their annual festivities, Fan Fest is the official kick off of hockey season here in Tampa Bay. There are all sorts of activities going on throughout the day, and whether you are a casual fan or someone who bleeds blue, there is something for everyone.
As stated in the Press Release, the team will be holding an open practice where fans can come out and get a closer look at the team before they hit the ice for the 2017-18 season. In addition, there will be opportunities for fans to get autographs and take pictures with their favorite players.
There will also be activities for children, food specials, and all sorts of other fun things happening. This is definitely something fans will want to check out. It’s bound to be an awesome day with the Bolts.
Unfortunately, there is only one little teensy weensy downside to today’s announcement. The announcement didn’t include any information on scheduling, player appearances, or anything of the sort. As you can imagine, these are rather important details.
The good news is, the Tampa Bay Lightning promised more information was soon to come. There are going to be quite a lot of people in attendance at the event, and you will want to be as prepared as possible to avoid any chaos or day-ruining shenanigans.
