The Tampa Bay Lightning are set to take on the Anaheim Ducks tonight in an East vs. West showdown at the Amalie Arena.
While the weather has been beautiful here in the Sunshine State as of late, there has definitely been more than the usual amount of Lightning Strikes as of late. Of course, this may have a lot to do with the firepower of Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos and his linemate Nikita Kucherov.
The Tampa Bay Lightning has been tearing through opponents this season, having only registered two losses so far this season; one of which was a 5-4 shootout loss to the New Jersey Devils. Their latest act of dominance came on Thursday night when the Lightning defeated the Detroit Red Wings for the second time this season. The Bolts’ first victory over the Red Wings was on Oct. 18 in a 3-2 win.
Despite their dominance thus far this season, the Lightning are definitely going to have to bring their ‘A’ game tonight if they want to continue to add points to their league-leading totals. Tonight, the Lightning are set to take on an opponent from the Western Conference who has a lot to prove right now, the Anaheim Ducks.

It would be easy to assume the Ducks have their feathers rather ruffled right now. Why wouldn’t they? On Thursday night, while the Lightning were defeating the Red Wings, the Anaheim Ducks were on the business end of an 8-3 beat down at the hands of the Lightning’s in-state rivals, the Florida Panthers.
The Ducks have only picked up four victories in the nine games they’ve played so far this season, leaving Anaheim with a 4-4-1 record. You can bet your bottom dollar the Ducks will be looking to make a name for themselves by defeating, arguably, the best team in the league right now.

The Bolts have learned a lot from the mistakes of the past, and are working hard to correct these aforementioned issues on a game-by-game basis. If the Lightning continue to be aggressive with the puck, shut their opponents down on defense, and play the way everyone here in the Bolts Nation knows they can, Lightning fans are going to be in for a heck of a ride this season.
