Don’t miss out on a single moment of the action as the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the Colorado Avalanche tonight at the Amalie Arena.
The Tampa Bay Lightning ran into quite a bit of trouble on their most recent road trip; however, when the Bolts returned home to the Amalie Arena last Saturday night to take on the San Jose Sharks, things took a decidedly different turn. Ever since the Lightning has looked a lot more like the team from the start of the season.
Tonight, the Lightning embark on the third game of their four-game homestand as they get ready to do battle with captain Gabriel Landeskog and the Colorado Avalanche. This will be the first of two meetings between these two teams this season. The next meeting will be on Dec. 16, this time at the Pepsi Center in Colorado.
Right now, the Lightning and the Avalanche are polar opposites of one another. The Bolts are currently at the top of both the Atlantic Division and the NHL with a total of 40 points. At the same time, the Avs are second to last in the Western Conference with a mere 26 points.
Of course, this doesn’t mean the Avalanche is without their fair share of firepower. Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon is currently leading the way for the team, earning 10 goals and 21 assists for a total of 31 points.
While the top spot on the Lightning is highly contested at the moment, there is quite the disparity between the first and second place spot on the Avs. The second place spot in overall points on the Avs is currently held by forward Mikko Rantanen.

Tampa Bay Lightning
The Tampa Bay Lightning has definitely not lacked in the scoring department since starting their current homestand. In just two games, the Bolts have brought home a total of 11 goals by eight different players. Also, there were a total of 12 different players with assists in the same stretch. All in all, there are a total of 14 players who have made it to the scoresheet in one manner or another thus far.
If the Lightning wants to continue their winning ways and get the most out of their current homestand, they will need to keep the pressure on their opponents, keep the puck out of their hands, and keep a consistent pace through a whole 60 minutes of hockey. Judging by the way they’ve been playing as of late, this shouldn’t be much of a problem for the Bolts.
While Lightning fans anxiously await puck drop, let’s take a closer look at all the information you’ll need to make sure you’re on top of all the action between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Colorado Avalanche live tonight from the Amalie Arena in Downtown Tampa.
