Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Columbus Blue Jackets: Live stream, TV info, and more
The Tampa Bay Lightning looks to get back on the right track with a victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at the Amalie Arena.
The Tampa Bay Lightning has been on quite the rollercoaster ride over course of the two games they’ve played so far this season. After bringing home a 2-1 shootout victory over the Florida Panthers in the Home Opener, the Lightning suffered a 4-1 loss in Game 2 against the Vancouver Canucks.
The good news here is there is still a plethora of hockey to be played this season and tonight the Lightning has an opportunity to get back on the right track and kick-start a win-streak. In just a matter of hours, the Tampa Bay Lightning will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Amalie Arena in Downtown Tampa.
Last season, the Lightning had quite a bit of luck against the Blue Jackets. The Lightning emerged victorious in all three contests against the Blue Jackets last season, the most exciting of which was a 5-0 routing of the Blue Jackets on December 31, 2017.

Before anyone gets too excited, there is one monumental difference between this particular game and the game the Lightning are preparing for tonight. In the Lightning’s 5-0 decimation of the Blue Jackets, Columbus did not have goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky between the pipes. Guess where Bobrovsky will be tonight?
You guessed it…the Tampa Bay Lightning will be going up against Sergei Bobrovsky tonight. This means Lightning fans are about to be treated to a battle of the beasts as Lightning netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy will be holding down the fort for the Boys in Blue tonight.
If the Lightning wants to bring home a victory over the Blue Jackets tonight, one thing is crystal clear. The Bolts simply must be more offensively aggressive. The Lightning has scored a mere two goals over the course of the first two games of the season. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but this kind of production won’t get a team very far as the season progresses.
The Bolts roster is packed with players who have the offensive fortitude to bring the pain to just about any netminder in the league. Lightning captain Steven Stamkos and forward Nikita Kucherov should be more than enough to get another team shaking in their skates. Let’s not even get started when it comes to Brayden Point.
It’s not apparently clear what has been clogging up the offensive pipeline so far this season, but if the Lightning wants to get back on the right track and bring home the two points tonight against Columbus, they are going to have to pull out the Drano and let the pucks flow freely towards the net.
While everyone here in the Bolts Nation prepares for battle tonight, let’s take a closer look at all the information fans will need to stay on top of all the action as the Tampa Bay Lightning takes on the Columbus Blue Jackets from the Amalie Arena.

As we have said many times before, there is still a lot of hockey to be played before anyone truly starts taking a look at the leaderboard. However, it is never too early in the season to start putting points on the board. We’ve seen it in seasons past where the way a team starts the season can make or break them when the postseason comes calling.
