Tampa Bay Lightning scores 7 Goals, honors Hall of Famer Martin St.Louis
The Tampa Bay Lightning made Hockey Hall of Famer Martin St.Louis proud, scoring seven times against the Florida Panthers.
On Thanksgiving Eve, the Tampa Bay Lightning gathered to celebrate former captain Martin St.Louis being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. St.Louis dropped the puck to start the matchup against state rivals, the Florida Panthers.
A minute in, Mathieu Joseph scores his fifth of the year to put the Lightning up early. The Panthers bounce back and tie the game at one about a minute later. Nikita Kucherov scores on the power play later in the period to take the lead, 2-1.
The second period proved to be full of offense for the Bolts as both Yanni Gourde and Adam Erne score, with the Bolts now up 4-1. Aleksander Barkov scores on the power play for the Panthers to bring Florida within two going into the third.

Early in the third, Steven Stamkos scores his seventh of the year. Stamkos recorded four points in the game and has 21 points in 22 games played on the season. Both Ryan McDonagh and Dan Girardi add to the offense, and the Bolts add to the lead at 7-2. Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo was relieved after McDonagh’s goal, and James Reimer took over.
The Panthers were able to score on the power play, but it is not enough and the Bolts win on home ice 7-3. This offense is a huge step from the previous game against the Nashville Predators. However, the Bolts still lacked in shots, with only 33 shots on goal for the game.
Lightning goalie Louis Domingue recorded 40 saves and a .930 save percentage. After Domingue’s fifth consecutive start, coach Jon Cooper may debate bringing in Edward Pasquale for the game Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks. Regardless, Domingue has stepped up after Andrei Vasilevskiy’s foot injury and has kept the Bolts at the top of the Eastern Conference.
The Lightning now has 31 points on the season and will play the Blackhawks on Friday, and the New Jersey Devils on Sunday. After a game filled with seven different goal scorers, Bolts Nation can only hope for the same offense to come as the season is a third of the way done.
