Preview: Potential playoff battle as Canadiens face off vs Lightning

The Lightning picked up win number 60 on the season in a 5-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators Monday night in the first of their back to back road games. The second one takes place tonight at the Bell Centre as the Lightning face off against the Montreal Canadiens in a matchup that could be a First Round playoff matchup.

The Canadiens come into this as game winners of five of their last seven and are one point out of the last Wild Card spot.

This isn’t the first time the Lightning have played in back-to-back games as this is the 11th out of 11 times this season they have. They are 7-3-0 in the second games of them. But the Lightning are still banged up as Victor Hedman is still day to day along with Dan Girardi. They hope to get those guys back for the playoffs. Anton Stralman will make his return to the lineup tonight, likely bouncing Cameron Gaunce back out of the lineup.

The Lightning still have a chance to set a new wins league record as they need to sweep the rest of their games in order for it to happen.
