Steven Stamkos has done it! 1,000 career points.

For a player most commonly considered as a goal-scoring specialist around the league, reaching this milestone on a second assist on Nick Paul’s second period goal only seems fitting for a player who prides himself on contributing just as much to his teammate’s goals as well as scoring his own (494 goals & 506 assists).

Stamkos is officially the 95th player in NHL history to reach 1,000 career points, and the first in Tampa Bay Lightning franchise history.

Having reached the 1,000-point mark in 945 games, Stamkos became the fourth fastest among active players to reach this milestone, and one of only eight active players to do so with one franchise.

Enjoy this moment Lightning fans because we are at least a few years away from being able to celebrate another Bolt achieving this milestone. The next closest is Nikita Kucherov — currently at 651 career points over 585 games but tracking towards achieving 1,000 points in just under 900 games.

Career goal number 500 is next up in Stamkos’ season of milestones. With 494 goals as of this moment, a quick scoring burst from Stammer would bring him to the brink of that milestone here shortly. But for now, enjoy the historic feat that we have just seen Stamkos achieve.
