The National Hockey League announced their preliminarily All-Star Game rosters for next months event by naming one player from each team to their respective divisions rosters. Nikita Kucherov was named as the Tampa Bay Lightning’s representative.

Kucherov currently finds himself fifth in the league in scoring and the leader in assists with 41 through 37 games.

This marks the fourth All-Star game appearance for Kucherov and first since 2019. During the 2018-19 season, Kucherov would go on to win the Hart and Art Ross Trophy’s.

The Lightning would likely have more All-Stars than just one if every team did not have to be represented. Still, the Lightning are a prime candidate to land another player on the Atlantic Division squad through the fan vote.

Last year, Steven Stamkos made the game through the “last man in” vote and would go on to join Andrei Vasilevskiy in Vegas for the weekend.

Three more players are to be added to each division’s teams through the fan vote, two skaters and a goalie. Because of this, Vasilevskiy might be the most likely Lightning candidate to head to the game through the fan vote in order to complete the two goalie requirement. Vasilevskiy is certainly the best goalie in the Atlantic Division and the most likely to join Boston’s Linus Ullmark.

All-Star weekend will take place February 3rd and 4th at Fla Live Arena, the home of the Florida Panthers.
