A pair of left wingers have left their respective trades in a trade of forwards on Sunday. The Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday announced that they have acquired left wing forward Michael Milne from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for left wing forward Boris Katchouk.
Katchouk started his career with Tampa Bay after being drafted by the organization in 2016. He made his debut with the team in 2021, playing in 38 games during the 2021-22 season. He scored two goals, had four assists, and six points.
After one season with Tampa Bay he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks where he spent the next three seasons. He was claimed off waivers by the Ottawa Senators in 2024 before Tampa signed him as a free agent to bring him back to Florida in 2025.
Katchouk spent most of this season with the Syracuse Crunch, skating in 21 games with the Lightning’s AHL affiliate. He scored four goals, had six assists, and ten points. He was struck with four penalty minutes as well.
The 27-year old from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada also skated in three games for the Lightning in 2025. He averaged 12:11 on the ice and had a 36.8 face-off percentage.
As the return, the Wild have sent 23-year old Michael Milne to Tampa Bay.
Milne has skated in just one career NHL game, making his debut on November 16, 2024 against the Dallas Stars.
The remainder of his career was spent in the AHL. His past four seasons have been spent with the Iowa Wild. Over the course of his four seasons in the AHL he has 32 goals, with 65 points and 104 penalty minutes.
He skated in 15 games with the Wild in 2025, scoring two goals, recording three assists, and five points with 14 penalty minutes.
Milne will begin his tenure with the Tampa Bay organization with the Lightning’s AHL Syracuse Crunch with hopes of getting called up to the Lightning over the course of the season.
