It's the second game of the season, and Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy already has another record to his name.
Saturday night's game marked his 600th career game. With that becoming official, he now holds the record for the most wins in that span.
THE BIG CAT WITH ANOTHER BIG RECORD!!! 😼

Should it really be that surprising that he scooped up another record? He's already the fastest to 300 wins in a career. He can become the quickest to 400 wins in a career if he records his 30th win of the season, which means he will get that honor.
He might as well snatch up something else in between.
The night also served as a nice bounce-back game for Vasilevskiy. He stopped 20 of 21 shots on goal to secure the first star of the game. He would've earned the record either way, but it's good when he's picking it up on a high note.
It's easy to look at wins and see them as a team stat. But in the context of the Lightning, even with the talent the team has, Vasilevskiy has earned nearly each and every one of them.
Let's take last season as an example. He finished with a record of 39-15-4, which translates to a points percentage of .672. With any other goalie, the Lightning went 11-11-2. They're hockey .500 without their Big Cat between the pipes.
It's why it doesn't matter how good his team is. It's why he took home the Vezina Trophy, and he finished in the top 10 for Hart Memorial Trophy voting. He's been a Conn Smythe winner for a reason, too. That Lightning team was a juggernaut, but he led the way.
Let's not forget, he's also willing to literally fight for his team in order to swing the momentum.
So, when you see another record added to his resume, it's a nod to what he's achieved as an all-time great netminder in the NHL. Another record was handed over. There are plenty more left to come for him.
