I was born in Ohio before moving to Hawaii and eventually settling in Florida when I was eight years old. I never played hockey as a child (blasted Florida) but I did enjoy the roller version on occasion. Ultimately, I became a cross country and track runner in high school. I went to my first hockey game in '95. A game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers at the Thunder Dome. After that I was hooked (pun possibly intended). I became a big Bolt fan and have remained one ever since. I started writing professionally as a sports writer in 2011 for my local newspaper in Citrus County, Florida and continue to do so. I also write a fair amount of poetry that has been published in a few magazines.I have a son named Gavin who I am slowly but surely making into a Lightning fan as well.
