With what should be no surprise to any hockey fan, NHL.com has officially announced Nikita Kucherov to be a finalist Ted Lindsay Award. By the same token, NHL.com also has named Kucherov to be a finalist for the coveted Hart Memorial Trophy.

Over the course of his NHL career, Nikita Kucherov has diligently worked on becoming a household name for all Tampa Bay Lightning fans far and wide. His storied career includes a multitude of points, goals, and Stanley Cups. Among his career accolades, he has managed to snag a few prized awards along the way.

Per NHL.com, second round draft pick Nikita Kucherov is the proud owner of one Hart Memorial Trophy, one Ted Lindsay Award, three Art Ross Trophies, and two Stanley Cups. Wow, not too shabby whatsoever for the future hall-of-famer!

While each award is a sign of significant achievement, it is only a small glimpse into the player that is Nikita Kucherov. Lightning fans can confidently say that Kucherov has been one of the deadliest offensive machines the team has seen since the likes of Steven Stamkos. Whether it be shooting a laser at the goalie or dishing the nastiest pass a hockey fan has ever seen, Kucherov expertly makes his case for both the Ted Lindsay Award and the Hart Memorial Trophy.

Before Kucherov can add any new trophy to his already overflowing trophy case, he will have to beat out his fellow finalists. For the Ted Lindsay Award, NHL.com says Kucherov is joined by Colorado Avalanche all-stars in Nathan MacKinnon, and Cale Makar. Similarly for the Hart Trophy, NHL.com reports Kucherov is followed by Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl and Winnipeg Jets Goalie Connor Hellebuyck.

During the 2024-2025 season, NHL.com shows Kucherov as having led the NHL with 121 points composed of 37 goals and 84 assists, earning him his latest Art Ross Trophy. Additionally, NHL.com shows Kucherov’s last three regular season campaigns ending all above 100 points. One can argue no player has been as consistent as Kucherov in terms of offensive production. He truly elevates the Lightning offense to a completely different planet each and every single night. Without Kucherov, one can only imagine what the Lightning would be. Thankfully, Kucherov shows no signs of wanting to leave, but rather staying competitive in hopes of taking Tampa Bay back to the Stanley Cup. Look for Nikita Kucherov to be a viable candidate to win both trophies.
