The Hometown Remix has officially been unveiled across the NHL, and the Tampa Bay Lightning officially have another uniform that checks off the boxes of a lot of fans.
Once again, they opted for an all-black look with blue accents, but it's also another Gasparilla-inspired look.
What will likely go underappricated, is what they included called the Bayshore Balustrade. It's hard to notice it, but if you look at the bottom of the jersey on the inside stiching, you can see it.
For those who don't know what a balustrade is, it's a type of concrete railing with small columns called balusters. They can been see on the water up and down Bayshore Boulevard in Tampa.

Overall throughts on the jerseys and uniforms
There wasn't much that could have been done wrong with the helmet, gloves and shorts. We saw those during practice, and they were pretty clean. Where they had to nail the look was with the actual jersey.
When I saw a photo at first that was just the model for the NHL store, it didn't look that impressive. It by no means did the jersey justice. However, after the real photos got dropped by the team, and you could see players wearing them, you could see the full vision. The team did a fine job with them.
At first, the idea of another Gasparilla uniforms led to an eye roll. It's been done a lot. I get it. If it ain't broke, then don't fix it. It's just hard to imagine how many different things they could still do.
Sure enough, they found a new look, and it works really well.
