The Tampa Bay Lightning are enjoying four days off before their final two encounters of the regular season while we take a look at some of the Top Headlines both here and around the NHL.

The Tampa Bay Lightning only has two more games left in the regular season before they start their journey into the post season in search of Lord Stanley’s Cup.

Before they embark on their final two encounters in the regular season, the Lightning have an opportunity that they rarely received during the regular season; a four day break to refocus and more importantly recover.

One would hope that the time off will give players like defensemen Victor Hedman and Braydon Coburn the time they need to recover and make their way back on the ice before the start of the post season.

On Thursday night, the Lightning will charge back on to home ice at the Amalie Arena to go head-to-head with Patrik Elias and the New Jersey Devils. We don’t know about you, but we’ll be ready and waiting to Be The Thunder for our boys in blue.

While we wait for all the action to kick off here in the Bolts Nation, let’s take a look at some of the Top Headlines from here in Hockey Paradise and around the National Hockey League.

As we are sure you know by now, unless of course you have been stranded on a desert island, underneath a rock, without the use of any form of social media, the Tampa Bay Lightning are about to burst onto the scene in the 2014-15 Stanley Cup Playoffs. One of the most essential parts of “Being The Thunder,” other than showing up and screaming your heart out of course, it the gear. In preparation for the post season, the Lightning is handing out a limited amount of Playoff Packs with all sorts of cool gear in them. [Tampa Bay Lightning]

The Syracuse Crunch may have clinched their spot in the 2014-15 Calder Cup Playoffs, but that hasn’t prevented them from falling on hard times. In fact, things have gotten pretty distressing. Crunch center Matthew Peca picked up his first professional point in the team’s encounter with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday night, but the Crunch still fell 3-2. This is the Crunch’s fourth loss in a row. [Syracuse Crunch]

The Tampa Bay Lightning are set to play the Boston Bruins in the final game of the regular season this Saturday. Almost the entire season, the “big, bad” Bruins have had the number of the Lightning. That is…until the last time these two teams met. As they prepare for their final encounter, the Bruins receive a bit of bad news. It seems as of Bruins captain Zdeno Chara is being considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. As you can imagine, this may have an impact on the final game of the season. [NHL.com]

As we head into the final week of the regular season, hockey fans all over the nation are looking to see where their favorite teams sit in the Power Rankings. Thankfully, the Tampa Bay Lightning are sitting in a pretty comfortable position. Now, Bleacher Report has taken a look at the teams in the NHL and put together their Power Rankings for Week 26. As the season comes to a close for some of the teams in the National Hockey League, their attentions turn to other pressing matters, whether this be the 2015 NHL Entry Draft or the upcoming Free Agent Period. As you know, the Tampa Bay Lightning are set to face off with the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night. One of the players they have coming up on Free Agency is Devils right wing Michael Ryder. As we said before, we will have to wait a few more days until we can watch our Boys in Blue storm the ice once again. On the bright side, it will in fact give some of those players who found themselves banged up in the back half of the season to recover a bit more and be able to take the ice once again.
