The Tampa Bay Lightning charge into the Amalie Arena to take on captain Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins in the final game of their home stand.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have been on quite a roll lately. The Lightning brought home the two points in eight of their last nine games before the 2016 NHL All-Star Game. On Wednesday night, the Bolts picked up right where they left off as they defeated their Atlantic Division rivals, the Detroit Red Wings 3-1 at the Amalie Arena. Tonight, the Tampa Bay Lightning has a new challenge in front of them…the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Taking on a team like the Penguins is never an easy task, but the Tampa Bay Lightning seem to be having quite a bit of success with this task so far this season. In the first meeting between the Lightning and the Penguins, which took place on January 15th at the Amalie Arena, the Lightning were able to edge out the Penguins 5-4 in overtime thanks to a goal from Vladislav Namestnikov.

Unfortunately for the Penguins, they will be headed into the Amalie Arena without the help of their leading goal scorer. Evgeni Malkin will be forced to miss tonight’s encounter as he is currently suffering from a lower body injury. The Pens will also be without the assistance of center Eric Fehr who has been placed on injured reserve.

The Lightning are no stranger to injury struggles. Tampa Bay Lightning fans will certainly remember the point earlier this season where the Bolts had eight members of the offense on the injured list all at the same time.

With or without the assistance of a player like Evgeni Malkin, the Penguins are still a forced to be reckoned with. If the Tampa Bay Lightning continue to play the way they have over the course of the last few games, the Bolts should find themselves in a good position tonight.

While everyone in the Bolts Nation awaits puck drop tonight, let’s take a closer look at all the information one will need to make sure they don’t miss a moment of the action tonight between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
