Tampa Bay Lightning forward Michael Bournival has been ruled out tomorrow night against the Boston Bruins at the Amalie Arena in Tampa.

The Tampa Bay Lightning has been forced to deal with more injuries in a single season than any team should be forced to deal with in three seasons. In fact, there was a point in the season when the team was steadily losing more players than were returning to the lineup. This has caused all kinds of problems for the Bolts.

Slowly, but surely, some Lightning players have made their way back into the lineup. Unfortunately, there are a handful of key players still relegated to the sidelines with a variety of injuries. One of the many players still located on the Lightning’s injury list is Lightning forward Michael Bournival.

Bournival has been sidelined since January 26th, when the Lightning took on the Florida Panthers, with an Upper Body Injury. Here we are, four days later, and it seems like there hasn’t been a whole lot of change in his status.

According to Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times, Lightning Head Coach Jon Cooper has stated Michael Bournival will remain sidelined tomorrow night as the Lightning attempted to bring home a much-needed two points against their Atlantic Division rivals, the Boston Bruins.

While Bournival may not be the most prolific goal scorer on the team, but unlike some of the others who have taken the ice before him, he has managed to make his way to the scoresheet.

Michael Bournival was only able to play in 17 games with the Lightning before being sidelined with an Upper-Body Injury. In that amount of time, Bournival has managed to bring home a goal and an assist for a total of two points.

Sure, this may not seem like a lot, but in the team’s current predicament, you take what you can get.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have reached a crucial point in the season. If they don’t make some sort of change and right the course, the Lightning will find themselves out of the postseason before they even had a chance to utter the word. Now, the Bolts are faced with the perfect opportunity.

The next two games in a row are against Atlantic Division opponents. Right now, the Bolts are six points behind the Bruins and eight points behind their next opponent, the Ottawa Senators. If the Lightning can pick up points against their Divisional opponents, they have a real opportunity to turn things around.

It will be interesting to see how things play out when the Tampa Bay Lightning hit the ice tomorrow night against the Boston Bruins. It’s going to be a tough challenge for the Lightning, but not an impossible goal. Of course, the Lightning will definitely need their Thunder. Are you ready to make some noise?
