It’s getting closer. In just a few days, the Tampa Bay Lightning, along with the rest of the NHL, will officially release their Hometown Remix uniforms.

As part of a league-wide campaign, the Lightning released a graphic on social media with the date Nov. 2, 2026. Part of the graphic also teased an all-black helmet.

The Lightning added in a reply that on this date, the Hometown Remix jerseys will go on sale at 10 a.m. both online and in-store.

For those who follow the team's daily coverage, this black helmet should already look familiar to you. The Lightning wore these helmets over the last couple of days of practice.

While these are just practice uniforms -the jerseys are still the regular ones for practice- they help provide a sneak peek into what could be released on Monday.

This is the latest series of uniforms unveiled by the NHL. It’s the first league-wide release since the second round of reverse retros during the 2022-23 season.

What else can be gathered about Lightning Hometown Remix uniforms?

There is a very strong chance that the helmet and the shorts are part of the official uniforms. Those are typically the same as what is worm during the games.

Should that officially become the case, the Lightning will have another series of uniforms that include black, the team's original primary color, and more unique shade of blue.

Lightning fans eat up black jerseys every single time. Many want them to revert to that color full-time. At the very least, they'll get something that scratches that nostalgic itch.

The last time the Lightning unveiled a black third jersey was during the 2023-24 season. The full design's purpose was to weave the Stanley Cup-winning uniforms together. Many would have preferred to have seen the throwback logo again, which was used on both reverse retro jerseys, but the shoulder patch going on the front was still a well-liked touch.

We'll see what the full design looks like soon. We'll also get to see what part of the hometown culture influenced the design.
