Goaltender Ben Bishop provided a steady force in net during his time with the Tampa Bay Lightning, and following his trade Sunday to the Los Angeles Kings, let’s take a look at some of his top moments as a Bolt.

Last Sunday afternoon, Tampa Bay Lightning fans received some shocking news. They discovered that the team’s no. 1 goaltender for the past few years, Ben Bishop, had been traded and would no longer don the blue and white for the Lightning. Though many saw this type of transaction coming, many others thought Bishop would stick around just a bit longer.

Nonetheless, he is gone and will likely provide his services to the Los Angeles Kings as a nice pairing to another one of the league’s top netminders in Jonathan Quick. If the Kings do end up making the Stanley Cup Playoffs, that will be a tandem to be reckoned with.

If you’re still trying to get over the emotions from the trade, please stick around. Bishop is arguably the best goaltender in franchise history, despite not winning the Cup, and it’s fitting that we look back on some of his best moments on the ice for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

He provided fans with many top moments during both the regular season and the playoffs, so it was hard to choose just five of them.

Personally, some of my favorite memories of Bishop came during that epic postseason run in 2015 when the team made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final. The 30-year-old netminder posted three shutouts that year, including two game seven shutouts during the most pivotal point in the series.

Aside from that, there are many more moments to look back on. Though Bishop only spent a part of his career with the Lightning, this was his most successful stop, and we are grateful for what he accomplished in Tampa Bay.
