Honorable Mention – Ben Bishop and Brandon Prust incidents

If you have followed the Tampa Bay Lightning for a few years, you’ll likely remember the heated altercations between Ben Bishop and former Montreal Canadiens forward Brandon Prust. Being in the same for a few seasons, one would expect certain players to run into each other fairly often and get physical when the time is right.

Oddly enough, though, we witnessed some strife between two players who wouldn’t necessarily encounter each other just anywhere on the ice. No, it was usually Prust who would venture over toward Bishop’s end of the ice and try to stir things up. One example of this can be seen in the video above.

As you can see, this incident happened during a regular season game, not during the postseason, and by the looks of it, Prust mainly wanted to just get inside Bishop’s head, especially since he wandered over to him during a TV timeout. Though you can’t see it from the angle in this particular video, Prust speared Bishop around the genital area, and of course, Bishop didn’t appreciate that gesture.

What followed that is just what one would expect: Several players from both teams went over to the two players and tried to defend their respective teammate. In addition to this incident, there are others between Bishop and Prust that can be viewed below:

These weren’t Bishop’s finest moments with the Lightning (though he didn’t really instigate any of them), but they’re certainly memorable. That’s why the Bishop-Prust incidents deserve an honorable mention among Bishop’s top moments with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
