5. Mikkel Boedker

Mikkel Boedker is a 26-year-old, six foot, and 211-pound right wing. He has serious scoring talent and could play a significant role on the Tampa Bay Lightning. Much like many players on the Tampa Bay Lightning’s main roster right now, Boedker is all set to become a Free Agent this year.

Last year, Boedker scored 51 points in 80 games, while playing for the Arizona Coyotes and the Colorado Avalanche. He managed to have 10.2 shooting percentage, scoring 17 goals and 34 assists for a total of 51 points.

One of the many things Mikkel Boedker brings to the table is veteran experience. Boedker will be entering his ninth season in the National Hockey League in the 2016-17 season.

Unfortunately, there are some downsides that come along with Mikkel Boedker as well. Last year, Boedker had a minus-33 rating. This was the worst plus-minus rating in the entire league, but on the flip side, this could be contributed to playing on the third and sixth worst defenses in the league.

Mikkel Boedker would be a good fit for a Lightning team without Steven Stamkos. Boedker couldn’t replace Stamkos, but he could help the Lightning score some goals. He is fast, skilled, and disciplined; all things the Lightning should be.

Mikkel Boedker is a talented player and very experienced for 26 years-old. If Steven Stamkos doesn’t re-sign, Boedker could be a good candidate to help the Lightning maintain their scoring reputation. At the right price, Boedker would be a good edition to the Lightning.
