5. Bishop Loses His Two Front Teeth

During a road game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ben Bishop took a shot to the mask from opposing forward Peter Holland. Some of Bishop’s front teeth were knocked out as a result, and though I could imagine it was painful for him, it made for a laughable moment to look back on.

Though Bishop has endured other painful injuries, I’m sure he felt this one, as getting one’s teeth knocked out, especially by a puck to the face, is likely not a pleasurable experience. But the 30-year-old netminder seemed to not mind the pain from it,

"“It wasn’t really super painful or anything like that,” Bishop said."

Even teammate Brian Boyle helped his goaltender find the teeth that fell onto the ice. What a nice gesture!

Bishop would play the rest of the game, though, and did not miss significant time. He got the start two days later against Montreal with his teeth still missing and proceeded to play in two more games during Tampa Bay’s six-game road trip in late October and early November. When he finally returned to Tampa, Bishop underwent a procedure to fix his teeth with little to no pain afterward.

This is just one of those funny memories of Ben Bishop, and it’s something that we, as Lightning fans, can look back on and smile at.
